Before introducing a school mindfulness program, check whether the surrounding system is ready to support it.

## Leadership

* Is senior leadership supportive?
* Is mindfulness being introduced as education rather than a cure-all?
* Is there time for staff orientation?

## Curriculum

* Is the material age-appropriate?
* Are Nursery, LKG, UKG, primary, and older students treated differently?
* Are session lengths realistic?
* Are movement and sensory options included?

## Staff

* Who will facilitate?
* Have facilitators practised the material themselves?
* Is there guidance for responding to distress?
* Do teachers understand the difference between mindfulness education and therapy?

## Parents

* Will parents be informed before implementation?
* Is the language secular and clear?
* Is there a process for questions or concerns?

## Safety

* Are safeguarding procedures already in place?
* Can a child opt out of a specific practice?
* Are alternatives available for sensory or trauma-related discomfort?
* Is there a referral pathway when a student needs more support?

## Measurement

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.theholisticcare.com/knowledge/practical-checklists/school-mindfulness-readiness-checklist.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
