# Mindfulness Games & Interactive Practice

How THC's free browser-based mindfulness games teach breathing, grounding, emotional awareness, gratitude, self-compassion, and thought skills through play.

The Holistic Care publishes free, browser-based mindfulness games designed primarily for children and teens, with several practices that adults, families, classrooms, and wellbeing groups can also use.

The live collection currently includes **16 games** and is designed to work on mobile, tablet, and desktop without requiring an app download.

## Why use games?

For many children, mindfulness is easier to learn through interaction than through formal seated meditation.

A well-designed game can make one skill concrete:

* slowing and noticing the breath
* grounding through the senses
* naming emotions
* noticing thoughts without reacting to them
* gratitude
* self-kindness
* body awareness
* short moments of stillness

The goal is not to turn mindfulness into a competition. The game is simply a doorway into a repeatable inner skill.

## Responsible use

Mindfulness games are educational tools. They do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, and they should not replace caregiver support, school counselling, medical care, or professional assessment when those are needed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.theholisticcare.com/knowledge/mindfulness-games-and-interactive-practice.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
