Facilitation is a live skill. A learner can understand mindfulness theory and still struggle to guide a real group. This is why THC's current facilitator pathways include practicum and supervision. ## Practicum develops * clear instruction * pacing * use of silence * tone of voice * handling questions * noticing group energy * responding to resistance * adapting without abandoning the curriculum * ending practices safely * receiving feedback without defensiveness ## Supervision provides * reflection after difficult sessions * support around boundaries * discussion of ethical questions * help distinguishing facilitation from therapy * opportunities to refine delivery * accountability to the intended curriculum ## The facilitator is not the centre Good facilitation is not about appearing wise or impressive.
